<br />At the close of another year of progress on the Missouri Basin
<br />program of flood control and water conservation, it becomes my pleasure
<br />to again submit for your information a review of the status of that
<br />part of the work which is the responsibility of the Corps of Engineers
<br />in the Missouri River Division. The attached summary also includes
<br />general reference to our military construction work for the Army and
<br />Air Force, which in the last year has grown quite substantially in
<br />Colorado, as you are avlare.
<br />
<br />In all of our activities in Colorado we have had very fine co-
<br />operation from your office and other state officials, as well as other
<br />Federal Agencies having responsibilities in these programs. It is
<br />pleasing to note that after fourteen years of construction on the river
<br />develop!!1ent program there are now many co~leted projects in operation
<br />and providing the multiple-purpose services for which they were designed
<br />and built. The coordinating activities of the l:1Lssouri Basin Inter-
<br />Agency Connnittee, on which I have the privilege of service w'ith you, have
<br />contributed significantly to the over-all program that has been achieved.
<br />I hope to have the opportunity of visiting with you at forthcoming meet-
<br />ings of the Connni ttee.
