Exoected strea~flow volu~es are average to slig~tlv <br />above average if nor~al precipitation is receive~ ~uring t~e next several <br />mont~s. ~eservoir storage is good an~ is currently 117 percent of average <br />and 9R oercent of l~st year. Soil moisture is reported fair to good in all <br />areas. <br /> <br />Ya~oa-White-Nort~ Pl~tte: While ~uc~ below last ve~r's record snowoac~, t~is <br />year's me~surements s~ow a snowoac~ of 24 oercent above average. Of t~e six <br />snow courses measured in t~e area, t~e deeoest snow was ~easured on ~a~~it <br />Ears ~ass at 49 inc~ deot~, wit~ a w~ter content 31 oercent above average. <br />Lower elevation orecioitation ~as been ~uc~ closer to average for t~e season. <br />Soil moisture conditions are estimated to be good t~roug~out the basins. <br /> <br />~r~ansas: Snowoac~ in t~e Ar~ansas 8asin is ~uc~ below last year's average, <br />w~ile being 20 oercent above t~e long term average. Nearlv all of the basins <br />12 ~aior reservoirs are reoorting well a~ove average contents. As an <br />average, storage is more t~an four ti~es normal, the highest in Colorado. <br />With nor~al precioitation through the Year, adequate water supolies are <br />expected t~is su~~er. Soil moisture is rated at fair to good condition. <br /> <br />Rio Grande, Colorado: The Rio Gran~e Basin ~as a good start on t~is winter's <br />snowpac~ again this year. Latest surveys s~ow the snowoac~ at 145 percent of <br />average, and 7R oercent of last year, Average to above average strea~flows <br />are expected for t~is year's irrigation season. Reservoir storage is <br />currently 239 percent of average an~ soil moisture is rated as good <br />t~roug~oul t~e basin. <br /> <br />Rio Grande, New ~exico: Persoective water suoolies are excellent for <br />northern New ~exico l~is year. Snowpac~ statiatics, while only 71 percent of <br />last year, re~ain 75 oercent above average for Januarv I. Lower elevation <br />orecioitation also is well above average for this year. Soil moisture is in <br />goo~ con~ition throug~out the area and ~a10r reservoirs are storing t~ree <br />times their normal volumes. <br /> <br />S~n ~iguel, Oolores, ~ni~as, and San Juan: Snowoac~ in these waters~e~s is <br />135 oercent of average and 75 oercent of last year's January 1 reading. <br />Streamflows should be average to slightly a~ove average this summer, given <br />normal a~ounts of precioitation during the winter. Reservoir storage is <br />nearly at last year's level, an~ is 46 oercent above average. Soil moisture <br />is reoorte~ in good condition throughout most of t~e region. <br />
