Bil!h elevation <br />snowoac~ is current Iv 134 percent of svera~e statewide, but only 70 percent <br />of the record settin~ oace set lsst year. The hi~hest snowoaclt occurs in <br />the Gunnison River Basin at 55 oercent above avera~e. This is 70 oercent of <br />lsst year. The deeoest snow is at Red ~ountain Pass in the San Juan <br />~ountains at 72 inches deep and contains 18.7 inches of water for 141 oercent <br />of avera~e. The lowest basin snowoac~ is alon~ the front ran~e. The South <br />Pl~tt~ B~e!n ~~9 e 9no~ec~ ~tqtt8tic of 119 oercent of avera~e, and the <br />Ar~ansas Basin has 120 percent of avera~e. Expected streamflow volullles <br />around the state can anticioate not1llal to above not1llal flows. No shorta~es <br />are anticioated, but with about 60 oercent of the lllaXi1llUlll snowoaclt yet to <br />c~e the outloo~ could chan~e si~ificantlv. <br /> <br />Statwitle reservoir index is 181 percent of avera~e. Thia is 11 oercent <br />hi~her then last vear at this ti~. This should insure that no shorta~es <br />would exist if below not1llal orecioitation would occur over the next several <br />1ll0nths. Soil ~isture ran~es from fsir to ~ood in all areas. The 30 day <br />outloo~ for Colorado issued bv the National Weather Service, calls for below <br />normal precipitation and above nOr1llal tellloeratures for Januarv. <br /> <br />Statewide Outloo~ New ~exico: The statewide snoVDac~ statistics for the <br />northern 1llOuntains of New ~exico are 45 percent above avera~e cOlllpared to 78 <br />Percent of last year. Low elevation orecioitation is well above avera~e. <br />Nearlv three ti~s the not1llal fell durin~ the 1llOnth of December at El Rito <br />and Jemez Sorin~s, ~ile onlv 94 percent of avera~e was recorded at Cuba. <br />All seasonal totals are above avera~e with the exception of Pecos. All <br />streamflow volullles are exoected to have avera~e to IIUch above avera~e flows <br />durin~ the sorin~ and summer if not1llal orecioitation occurs the rest of the <br />winter. -Reservoir stora~e is 300 percent of avera~e, 23 percent above last <br />vear. Soil 1llOisture ~enerallv is reoorted ~ood in 1llOst areas. <br />
