In <br /> <br /> <br />such oase, every employee of Imperial Irrigation District, <br /> <br /> <br />to the extent that his duties or work pertain to or are <br /> <br /> <br />required in oonnection with the furnishing of such water <br /> <br /> <br />servioe to Mexico, as provided hereinabove, shall be consid- <br /> <br /> <br />ered as an employee of the United States, and at such time <br /> <br /> <br />or during such times as the United States assumes such direct <br /> <br /> <br />control, shall observe and oarry out any and all orders or <br /> <br /> <br />directions given by the United States in connection with <br /> <br /> <br />such service for the delivery of water to Mexico. Such an <br /> <br /> <br />assumption of direct control by the United States shall not <br /> <br /> <br />relieve the Distriot from its obligations hereunder or under <br /> <br /> <br />said contract of December I, 1932, nor from its obligations. <br /> <br /> <br />for the compensation of said employees referred to herein- <br /> <br />above. <br /> <br />"Compensation to the District for servioes rendered <br /> <br /> <br />hereunder shall be determined by the United States, both as <br /> <br /> <br />to the amount and time of payment of any such compensation, <br /> <br /> <br />which may be varied from year to year or otherwise." <br /> <br /> <br />Now to interpolate there, the reference is to the <br />J <br />
