Specific wildlife habitat practices (i.e. shallow <br /> <br />water development, shelterbelts, etc.), size of the practices,' <br />dates planned and applied are entered for each contract. Wetland <br />information entered in WET includes wetland type, source of water <br />supporting the wetland (artificial vs natural), acres, and values <br /> <br />(CWEP) for impacted wetlands. HEP information tracked includes <br /> <br />covertype acres, HSI and,HUV values for existing, planned and <br />applied conditions. WET is being used 'to record and evaluate the <br />qualitative and quantitative, changes to 'wetland and wildlife <br /><00 habitat as the salinity program progresses. These data will be <br />cumulatively summarized, 'evaluated and annually reported in this' <br />document - the Monitoring And Evaluation Report for the Lower <br /> <br />;../-,":'1 <br /> <br />.."~, <br /> <br />Gunnison, Colorado Unit. <br /> <br />RESULTS <br /> <br />At the end of fiscal year 1991, 84 salinity contracts <br /> <br />comprising 5,187 acres are funded in the Lower Gunnison Salinity <br />Unit. Of the 84 contracts, 14 are group projects and the <br />remaining are on individual farms. A total of $3,168,452 has <br />been approved for cost share of salinity related practices. Of <br />the total cost share funds $185,005 is allocated for wildlife <br /> <br />habitat improvement practices. wildlife practices make up about <br />
