<br />SAN JUAN-CHAMA <br />WATER ACCOUNTING <br />ALBUQUERQUE PROJECTS OFFICE <br />SEPTEMBER 1994 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of September was <br />computed to be 150 acre-feet (af) as shown on Table 3. ' Net San Juan-Chama losses <br />were 370 af as shown on Table 2. There were 30 af of San Juan-Chama water <br />diverted through Azotea Tunnel during August. <br /> <br />There was 903 af of San Juan-Chama water released from Heron for the month of <br />September ~hich consisted 0f 560 aF For +~Q C~ty and County 0f Santa Fe and PNM; <br />543 af to offset the estimated cumulative effects on the Rio Grande below the <br />Otowi gage as a result of pumping at the Buckman Well Field, and 17 af to offset <br />above the Otowi gage. 204 af were released for the City of Albuquerque of which <br />2 af serve to offset estimated effects above the Otowi gage and 202 af below the <br />Otowi gage. 61 af were released for the Town of Bernalillo to offset the <br />estimated cumulative effects on the Rio Grande below the Otowi gage due to <br />pumping. 78 af were released for the Town of Taos to offset effects above the <br />Otowi gage. <br /> <br />Total precipitation reported at Heron Reservoir for the month of September was <br />2.55 inches which is 170% of normal. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 421 af. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 2 af. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Cochiti, Abiquiu, <br />and Jemez Canyon Reservoirs are presented in Tables SA-SC. <br /> <br />Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu reservoirs are <br />shown on Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
