NUS Report No. 3925

Prepared by: NUS Corporation, 720 S. Colorado Blvd, #900, Denver, CO
80222.

Date: 1981

Time of Study: 1981, 1982

Sites:
Mt. Cres~ed Butte Water Supply
Sites on Woods Creek
Sites on Washington Gulch
Sites on Slate River
See pages 2-3 for exact locations

Paramete!rs measured: pH, Temperature, Ammonia, Un-ionized ammonia,
Residual Chlorine, Cyanide, Hydrogen sulfide, Boron, Nitrite, Nitrate,
Chloride, :Sulfate, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium (tri, hex), Copper, Iron
(sol, tot), Lead, Manganese (sol, tot), Mercury, Nickel, Selenium, Silver, Zinc,
Macroinvertebrates

Purpose of Study: NSU was retained by Crested Butte Water and
Sanitatio", District (CBWSD) to assess the water quality and biota of Woods
Creek, Washington Gulch, and the Slate River. This study was performed in
response to a lack of data for stream segments affected by effluent from
CBWSD and that classification of the stream segments required a larger
data base.

'f

Other asqects of the study: Data from the 1981 Mt. Emmons Water
Quality SrORET and from Colorado Department of Health are included for
comparison. Macroinvertebrate sampling and data are provided. Sampling
for this study occurred on one day only.

Appendices A and B are not included in this copy.

15

"
:i
,
I

L

J
'1
"
~i
jjj" .,;"~"", "",,, ~.
