<br />Sites of interest are in the East River Drainage and include:
<br />Slate River 2 (SR02) - seasonally
<br />Oh-Be-Joyful 1 (OBJ01) - seasonally
<br />Coal Cree.k 1 (COACK01) - monthly
<br />Slate River 3 (SR03) - monthly
<br />Slate River 1 (SR01) - monthly
<br />Cement Creek 1 (CEMCK01) -seasonally
<br />East River (ER01) - biweekly
<br />
<br />Parameters measured: pH, Conductivity, DO, Temperature, Suspended Solids,
<br />Velocity, BOD, Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform, Fecal Streptococcus, Ammonia
<br />Nitrogen, Nitrate Nitrogen, Phosphate Phosphorus, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen,
<br />Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium, Sulfate, Chloride, Fluoride, Cyanide,
<br />Boron, Aluminum (total), Arsenic (total), Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Iron,
<br />Manganese, lead, Zinc

<br />Purpose of Study: This study was conducted to establish baseline water
<br />quality for the major streams of Gunnison County. The study encompasses 32
<br />sites of which 7 are located in the East River Drainage. The data were used
<br />to determine whether water quality by stream segment met the criteria
<br />associate(:l with certain 1974 or 1978 classifications (see abstract, p.ivi.
<br />Exceptions to meeting criteria were: (1.) biological parameters, Ph. values and
<br />dissolved ammonia during warm weather and (2.) metal parameters in the
<br />Keystone Mine area of the Slate River and Coal Creek,
<br />
<br />Other aspects of study: STORET data and data from other studies are
<br />presented'to provide additional background information. Range, means for the
<br />year, and maps are provided as a means of summarizing data. Raw data for
<br />this study are provided in a separate folder.
