Date: 1975 Time of Study: June-August 1974, January 1975 Sites: SR1 Slate River 5.4 miles south of Crested Butte on Hwy 135 Bridge SR2 Slate River immediately below Crested Butte at the Hwy 135 bridge SR3 Slate River immediately below Crested Butte ER1 East River at Hwy 135 bridge in Almont, CO ER2 East River below Roaring Judy Fish Hatchery effluent ER3 Roaring Judy Fish Hatchery effluent ER4 East River Bridge leading to the Roaring Judy Fish Hatchery from Hwy i35 ER5 East River above the confluence with Slate River CC1 Cement Creek fifty yards above the confluence with the East River The SR1 and ER1 sites of this study correspond with the SR01 and ER01 sites in the Rumberg et al. 1978 study, Parameters: Temperature, DO, pH, Total Alkalinity, Phenolphthalein Alkalinity, Nitrate as Nitrogen, Nitrite as Nitrogen, Orthophosphate, Total Hardness, Calcium Hardness, Magnesium, Turbidity, Conductivity, Suspended Solids, Total Dissolved Solids, Volatile Solids, Chloride, Sulfate, Fecal Coliform, Fecal Streptococcus, Sodium Purpose of Study: This purpose of this study was to provide baseline water quality. Additionally the study pinpointed problem areas. ;1 Other aspects of the study: A diurnal study was completed on July 14-15, 1974 on the Slate River and the East River. Temperature, Ph., Do, Phenolphthalein Alkalinity and Total Alkalinity were measured. 11
