<br />Fiscal Year <br />1975 In Review <br /> <br />Highlights <br /> <br />On March 1, 1975, the city of Page, Ariz., <br />was officially incorporated. Title I of Public <br />Law 93-493, dated October 27, 1975, made <br />possible the incorporation of Page as a <br />municipality under Arizona statutes. This <br />relieves the Federal Government of munici- <br />pal operations which cost $200,000 to <br />$300,000 annually. <br /> <br />Award of contract was made on July 15, <br />1974, for the Currant Creek Dam, Bonne- <br />ville Unit, Central Utah Project. On June 30, <br />1975, construction was about 40 percent <br />complete. Strawberry Reservoir clearing, <br />and Currant and Layout Tunnels were <br />completed. Invitations for bids to construct <br />Vat Tunnel were issued May 15, 1975. <br /> <br />A contract was awarded March 7, 1975, for <br />the Main Canal mile 41.8 to 46.3 on the <br />Navajo Indian Irrigation Project. Tunnel No. <br />4 was holed through on August 14, 1974. <br /> <br />The Final Environmental Impact Statement <br />for the 165-mile Hayden-Ault 230-345-kV <br />transmission line was filed with the Council <br />on Environmental Quality July 22, 1974. <br />The participation agreement among the <br />TriState G&T Association, Inc., the Platte <br />River Power Authority, the Colorado- <br />Ute Electric Association, Inc., and the <br />Bureau of Reclamation was fully executed <br />February 21, 1975, and the bid opening <br />for the initial 4.5 miles of the transmission <br />line was held on June 26, 1975. <br /> <br />Construction of drains was completed on <br />the Bostwick Park Project. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />The President signed the Reclamation <br />Omnibus Bill (Public Law 93-493) on Octo- <br />ber 27, 1975, to allow additional funds for <br />drainage facilities on the Vernal Unit of the <br />Central Utah Project, and the Emery <br />County Project. This authorization will per- <br />mit those projects to be completed after the <br />repayment contracts have been amended. <br /> <br />On the Lyman Project. municipal and in- <br />dustrial water was first allocated as a <br />project purpose in December 1974. The <br />municipalities of Mountain View, Fort <br />Bridger, and Lyman, which were experienc- <br />ing greater growth than anticipated, re- <br />quested water from the Conservancy <br />District. <br /> <br />The Colorado River Basin Progress Report <br />NO.7 on continuing studies of the quality <br />of water was submitted to the Congress <br />and the Colorado River Basin States on <br />January 13, 1975. <br />
