<br />002316 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MONTHLY REPORT <br />TO THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RECEIVED <br />FEB 1 4 2000 <br /> <br />Colorado WaWt <br />Conservation Board <br /> <br />February 8, 2000 <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Amil 2000 Board Meeting <br /> <br />Last month the Board decided to move its April meeting date to April 19th so as not to conflict <br />with the NWRA-Federal Water Seminar that is held annually in Washington, D,C, Included in the <br />Board folder is the latest copy of the Board's schedule for calendar year 2000 reflecting that change, <br /> <br />PROTECTION OF EXISTING RIGHTS <br /> <br />Colorado River Water ReDort <br /> <br />During December 1999, storage in the major Upper Basin reservoirs decreased by <br />689,000 acre-feet and storage in the Lower Basin reservoirs increased by 323,000 acre-feel. Total <br />System active storage as of the end of December was 54,273 million acre-feet (mat) or 91 percent of <br />capacity, which is 0,048 maf less than one year ago, <br /> <br />January releases from Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams averaged 12,210, 10,370 and <br />6,700 eubic feet per second (cfs), respectively, Planned releases from those three dams for the month <br />of February 2000 are 13,500, 12,400 and 8,600 cfs, respectively, The January releases represent those <br />needed to meet downstream water requirements, <br /> <br />The February 1,2000 forecast of April through July 2000 unregulated inflow into Lake Powell <br />is 4,80 maf, which is 62 ercent of t e 30- ear avera e r. e enod 1961-1990, - The forecast of <br />nregu ated inflow into Lake Powell for the 1999-00 water year is 8,182 maf, or 70 percent of the <br />30-year average, <br /> <br />The Lower Division states' estimated consumptive use of Colorado River water for calendar <br />year 2000, as estimated by Board staff, totals 8.206 mafand is projected as follows: Arizona, 2,723 maf; <br />California, 5,220 maf; and Nevada, 0.263 mar. Estimated additional unmeasured return flow credits <br />of 0,241 mafwould reduce the total amount to 7,965 mar. For calendar year 2000, the Central Arizona <br />Project (CAP) is projected to divert 1310 maf, of which 290,000 acre-feet is to be placed in the Arizona <br />Water Bank, and The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) is projected to divert <br />1307 mar. <br /> <br />The February 2000 estimate of 2000 end-of-year California agricultural consumptive use of <br />Colorado River water under the first three priorities of the 1931 California Seven Party Agreement is <br />
