Further, the <br /> <br />federal agency so designated would have to commit the resources to <br /> <br />being the modeling entity. <br /> <br />A related issue is what role the Implementation Program will <br /> <br />play, if any, in modeling under Section 7 consultations. In <br /> <br />Section 7 consultations, a federal agency requesting the <br /> <br />consultation, such as the Bureau of Reclamation or the Bureau of <br /> <br />Indian Affairs, would provide pertinent information on the project <br /> <br />and proj ect impacts to the Fish and Wildlife service. <br /> <br />Under <br /> <br />current Fish and wildlife Service policy, the Service would notify <br /> <br />affected Indian tribes of the consultation, and the tribes mayor <br /> <br />may not, depending on the agency requesting the consultation, be <br /> <br />able to provide information to the consultation either directly or <br /> <br />through the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Also, the federal agency <br /> <br />requesting the consultation would consult with the project sponsor, <br /> <br />which could be an Indian tribe or other water user entity_ It is <br /> <br />not clear that the Implementation Program or other Program <br /> <br />participants will be provided the opportunity to submit data or <br /> <br />review information considered during the course of Section 7 <br /> <br />consultations under current consultation procedures_ <br /> <br />5 <br />
