"We're
looking at the day when we
take over the first part of the
operation." By 1992, the final
section, the "full service"
part of the project to the
drylands, will be In operation.
Parts of the operation will
be taken over by the district
when It and the government
agree that they should be
taken over by the local
people.
According to the contract

,--

with the government, he said,
the district must have just
such a reserve fund. In fact, it
is bigger than is now In the
savings.
Parler further explained
that the mill levy went down
to one mill in the 1982 taxing
year based on an assessed
valuation of the district of
$42,009,670 for revenues of
$42,010.
The district board raised
the levy the next year to 1.193

mills on an assessed
valuation of $45,218,070 for
revenues of $53,945 to prepare
for the reserv. funds.
On the other hand, he con-
tinued, the carbon dioxide
project might cause the levy
to drop again. But the district
doesn't expect as much of an
impact as will Montezwna-
Corlez School District Re-l.
"We don't expect to double
our assessed valuation," Por-
ter said.
