Local citizens will also enjoy the trail. <br />Old and young will enjoy hiking, biking and riding horses <br />along the green belt. Some may come with special interest-- <br />bird watching, history buffs, and edible plant foragers. <br />The greatest majority though will come simply to relax and <br />enjoy the out of doors, taking short and long hikes, plus <br />leisurely bike or horse outings. When the entire green <br />belt trail system is complete some residents may use it as <br />a leisure route to shopping areas or friends. <br />Interpretive programs should be planned to capture the <br />interest of casual visitor~ and intrigue them to develop <br />a greater understanding of the river and its resources. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Tourist--Colorado and Out-of-State. The tourist <br />may enjoy Ft. Collins' trail system. Ft. Collins is not <br />considered a vacation spot, although many visitors pass <br />through the area. Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, <br />the upper Cache La Poudre River, and the Rocky Mountain <br />area in general attract many tourists who pass through or <br />stop briefly in Ft. Collin~. The recent best seller <br />Centennial, written about this area, may increase the number <br />of tourist who stop is this area. <br />The green belt trail would be a natural attraction <br />for anyone interested in knowing more about the area or <br />wishing to get a better understanding of the settling of <br />the west.
