<br />McClure (Granite Poind Reservoir.-Water_stage recorder in NE1/4SWI/4 sec. 24, T. 17 N., R. 10 E., on Santa Fe River. Original
<br />reservoir completed in 1926, capacity, 561 acre-ft; in 1935, permanent flash boards were Installed in Spillway Increasing capacity to
<br />650 acre-ft; in 1947 both dam and Splllway Were reconstructed increasing capacity to 2,615 acre-ft (gage height, 96.6 ft, Crest of
<br />spillway). In 1953 Splllway was equipped with radial gates that opened au tomaticaUy, increaSing capacity to over 3,000 acre-fl In
<br />1972, radial gates were removed decreasing capacity to 2,615 acre-ft. In 1989, modifications to the dam and spillway increased
<br />capacity to 2,813 acre-ft. No dead storage. Altitude of gage is 7,790 fl Water is for municipal use In Santa Fe. Storage includes both
<br />Rio Grande water and transmounlain water by excl.lnge. Oniy the storage of Rio Grande water In eXcess of 561 acre-feet Is subject
<br />to terms of Rio Grande Compact.
