Saltpeter Creek Project, Colfax County, and Tramperos <br />Creek Project, Union and Harding Counties. These projects were <br />completed under the watershed protection and flood prevention <br />program P. L. 56&, and are administered by the Soil Conserva- <br />tion Service. Local organizations carry out the project re- <br />sponsibilities. The objective of these projects is soil and <br />water resource development, use and conservation; and flood <br />prevention. <br /> <br />2. Arkansas River Basin Plan, June 1975, is a management <br />document by the New Mexico Environmental Improvement Agency <br />Under P. L. 92-500 which identifies the water quality problems <br />of the AWR Basin in New Mexico and sets forth a program to al- <br />leviate those problems. <br /> <br />3. Mora Project, New Mexico, a report prepared by the U. <br />S. Bureau of Reclamation that discusses water supply, irrigated <br />acreage, and feasibility of project construction in Mora County. <br /> <br />OKLAHOMA <br /> <br />Identification of other areas of major planning follows: <br /> <br />Projecta being conducted at the Oklahoma Water Resources <br />Board are listed by department: <br /> <br />Planning Division: <br /> <br />a. Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan - work is currently <br />underway to develop a Statewide Comprehensive Water Plan. <br /> <br />b. Statewide Economic Impact Study - purpose is to determine <br />the total economic effects expected to result from the proposed <br />water shortages in western Oklahoma if the Oklahoma Comprehensive <br />Water Plan is not implemented. A proposal for this economic study <br />is presently being developed by an Economic Advisory Committee. <br />The proposed study is anticipated to cover an estimated 2~ year <br />time frame with preliminary costs of $250,000. <br /> <br />Groundwater Division: Groundwater basin studies include: <br /> <br />a. Ogallala - OWRB-USGS Cooperative Project, Hydrologic <br />Atlases in 1968-1973. Digital model study of the Ogallala basin, <br />Texas County now in progress. Geohydrology of the Oklahoma Pan- <br />handle finished and ready for publication. <br /> <br />b. Tillman Terrace - Hydrologic Atlas completed in 1974. <br />Computer model began in 1976. <br /> <br />128 <br />
