The purpose, <br />of the report is to inform individuals involved with AQUATRAIN <br />of current and upcoming activities so that a coordinated effort <br />can be maintained and project flag dates met. <br /> <br />2.0 SUBTEAM: WATER RIGHTS/WATER SUPPLY/STATE ISSUES <br />2.1 NOVEMBER EVENTS <br /> <br />Briefed Director of Colorado Water Conservation Board. <br />Topics included the concept of west slope water storage <br />projects to replace Glenwood-Dotsero water used for the <br />salinity control objective of AQUATRAIN. <br /> <br />Briefed representative of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board on November 1. Discussion included potential replacement <br />sources for Glenwood-Dotsero water and compact issues. <br /> <br />Briefed representative of Sheridan-Little Big Horn Water <br />Group, Wyoming. Possible interactions with AQUATRAIN were <br />discussed. <br /> <br />Briefed representative of Rifle Ski Association on November 3. <br />Topics included the Association's water rights and a proposed <br />storage reservoir on the Colorado River which the Association <br />would like to see considered as a potential replacement <br />source for Glenwood-Dotsero water. <br /> <br />Briefed Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum in Phoenix, <br />November 7-8. The Forum continues to encourage AQUATRAIN's <br />salinity control objectives. Forum members reiterated that <br />they do not have authority to represent State views regarding <br />non-salinity control aspects of AQUATRAIN. <br /> <br />Briefed Chairmen, Energy and Transportation Study Committees, <br />Utah State Legislature. Discussion centered on concerns <br />expressed in previous hearings, including existing state <br />law regarding eminent domain and the needs of Utah coal <br />producers. <br /> <br />Wyoming legislative leadership began seeking co-sponsors <br />on legislation supporting AQUATRAIN. <br /> <br />Attended 50th Anniversary Meeting, Wyoming Water Development <br />Asscciation in Casper, Wyoming. <br />
