V. COORDINATING PROCEDURE (CONTID)

Special sub-work groups. Any work group may have internal
sub-divisions appropriate to its functions. Sub-work groups which
have gained extended attention of AWRBIAC, resulting in some
specific A~~IAC influence on the internal functioning of the work
group, include: /'

a. Subgroup on Hydrology. A group of four named. individuals
under the Work Group on Water Resources. Recommended by Tulsa Group
31 October 1951: procedure adopted by Al-JRBIAC 19 November 1951; with
assignment of specific tasks regarding coordination of hydrologic
studies, as incorporated in approved work outline.

b. Subgroup on Basic Agriculture Data. A group within the
Work Group on Agriculture. Establishment recommended by Tulsa Group,
paper approved be' AVIRBIAC on 26 February 1952, establislullent contingent
on ability of Department of Agriculture to supply a chairman after
1 July 1952. Tulsa Group recommendations are Appendix I, Minutes of
Informal Session 2-52, 26 February 1952.

c. Pond Creek Study Group. A working group of hydrologic and
economic speciali.sts in the Vlork Group on Flood Control, Vlaterflow
Retardation, etc. Task is a special study initiated by members of
the Work Group for clarification of related economic and hydrologic
criteria, reported to the Committee on 16 January 1952. Studies
were initiated in Tulsa on 18 February 1952 with 21 ~pecialists
from seven agencies. Activities were reported in Appendix D, Arf.RBIAC
meeting of 26 February 1952. A report on progress during the first
phase was distributed on 12 May 1952. Further operations were 'n<
