Water Quality Standards for Salinity - Colorado River System Final
Report. (1993 Review) October 1993, by the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum,
describes the implementation plan and the individual salinity control projects and their status.
Accordingly, the Council will make no attempt to repeat that information in this Report.

General Comments

The Council believes that the federal agencies have done an outstanding job with regard
to coordination and joint development of the Implementation Plan. The Council urges the
federal agencies to continue to consult with the Forum and Work Group regarding proposed
program changes, program evaluations, and implementation schedule revisions for salinity
control projects. The Council remains committed to the Implementation Plan contained in the
1993 Review and is concerned that inadequate funding levels have resulted in delays in carrying
out planned salinity control activities. It is imperative that the federal agencies vigorously
pursue the inclusion of adequate funding in the President's budget request each year and
encourage the Congress to appropriate the funds needed to carry out in a timely manner the
necessary salinity control activities set forth in the 1993 Review.

COWRADO RIVER BASIN SAUNITY CONTROL ADVISORY COUNCIL

2
