The rauJ.tiple- <br />purpose unit couJ.d serve the functions of hydroelectric power, <br />municipal and industrial water supply, irrigation, recreation, <br />fish and wildlife, minor flood control, and possibly water quality <br />control. <br /> <br />Authority <br /> <br />This report is authorized to be made by virtue of the Federal <br />Reclamation Laws (Act of June 17, 1902, 32 Stat., 388 and acts <br />amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto). <br /> <br />Plan of Development <br /> <br />The water resources of the Cache la Poudre valley are already <br />highly developed--principally by private enterprise, All dependable <br />supplies have been put to at least one initial use--generally to <br />several succeeding uses. However, no use has been made of available <br />water supplies for the development of hydroelectric power. This <br />reconnaissance has disclosed the apparent practicability of p~fer <br />developrrent and, simultaneously, enhancing the municipal and <br />industrial water supplies for Fort Collins and Greeley, and improving <br />the irrigation water supply of the valley. Coordinate purposes of <br />recreation, fish and wildlife, flood control, and possibly water <br />quality control wouJ.d also be served. <br /> <br />1 <br />
