<br /> <br />Colorado Geological Survey <br /> <br />The survey is engaged in continuous programs in four major activites <br />including: <br /> <br />a. Inventory and evaluate the mineral fuel resources (coal, methane, <br />oil, gas, and oil shale) in the state and provide advice to state <br />and local officials on matters relating to these resources. <br /> <br />b. Inventory, map, evaluate and promote the development of the state's <br />mineral resources other than mineral fuels. <br /> <br />c. Study the availability of groundwater and geothermal resources. <br /> <br />d. Conduct project reviews on land use, subdivision proposals, and <br />assist local governments in the identification and mitigation of <br />geologic hazard areas. <br /> <br />Colorado Division of Parks and Dutdoor Recreation <br /> <br />This Division is involved in continuous activities to protect, preserve, <br />enhance and manage tha natural, scenic, scientific and outdoor recreation <br />areas for the use, benefit and enjoyment of the people. Specifically, the <br />Division is responsible for: <br /> <br />a. Providing a comprehensive outdoor recreation program of planning, <br />acquisition, and development of park areas. <br /> <br />b. Dperate and manage existing parks and recreation areas. <br /> <br /> <br />c. Administer the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. <br /> <br />Two significant recreation areas in the Missouri Tributaries River Basin <br />are administered by the Division, and are associated with Chatfield and <br />Cherry Creek reservoirs. <br /> <br />Colorado Division of Wildlife <br /> <br />This Division is responsible for the protection, preservation, <br />enhancement and management of wildlife and their environment. Three major <br />programs are implemented, on a continous basis, to accomplish these <br />objectives: <br /> <br />a. Maintenance of wildlife population numbers and providing hunting <br />opportunities. <br /> <br />b. Maintenance of fish population and providing fishing opportunities. <br /> <br />c. Administers the Non-Game Wildlife Progam. <br /> <br />- 30 - <br />
