<br />- 11 - <br /> <br /> <br />I' n ,', ' h- <br />U iJ ;. _~...) 0 <br /> <br />01-01 HIGHLAND DITCH COMPANY - is located in Boulder and Weld Counties, <br />Colorado. It serves 35,000 acres of irrigated cropland on the north side of <br />the St. Vrain Creek at Longmont, Colorado. The water source is a diversion on <br />St. Vrain Creek at Lyons, Colorado. It carries direct diversions along with <br />water for storage. The Highland system has a transmission ditch approximately <br />21 miles long with six (6) storage reservoirs. Two of these storage reservoirs <br />are exchange r~servoirs and are not located on the Highland System (Foothills <br />Reservoir and McIntosh Lake). Three reservoirs are on the Highland Ditch <br />System (Highland No. I, No.2, and No.3) below the diversion point. Beaver <br />Park Reservoir is located on the upper head waters, south of Rocky Mountain <br />Nat i ona 1 Park. <br /> <br />The Highland Ditch Company serves approximately 250 farms. The needs of <br />the canal include work on Beaver Park outlet works, and water-control <br />structures and canal lining of high seepage areas. <br /> <br />The onfarm needs include ditch lining, farm pipelines, water-control <br />structures, land leveling, irrigation water management (IWM) and irrigation <br />method changes. <br /> <br />01-02 ROUGH AND READY DITCH - is located in Boulder County, Colorado. It <br />serves 500 acres of irrigated cropland on the north side of St. Vrain Creek at <br />Longmont, Colorado. The water source is a diversion on St. Vrain Creek at <br />Lyons, Colorado. It carries water for storage along with direct diversions. <br />There are 16.4 miles of canal in this system. The canal needs include <br />water-control structures and canal lining of high seepage areas. <br /> <br />The onfarm needs include ditch lining, water-control structures, and <br />irrigation water management. <br /> <br />01-03 PALMERTON DITCH - is located in Boulder County, Colorado. It serves 60 <br />acres of irrigated cropland on the north side of St. Vrain Creek at Longmont, <br />Colorado. The water source is a diversion on St. Vrain Creek at Lyons, <br />Colorado. It also carries water to Longmont Pipeline. There are 5.5 miles of <br />canal in this system. The canal needs include turnouts and checks and canal <br />lining of high seepage areas. <br /> <br />The onfarm needs include water-control structures, farm pipeline, and <br />irrigation water management. <br /> <br />01-04 LEFTHAND DITCH - is located in Boulder County, Colorado. It serves <br />13,342 acres of irrigated cropland on both sides of Lefthand Creek (which is <br />Lefthand Ditch). The system also carries storage water for domestic use. There <br />are 50.8 miles of canal in this system. The canal needs include; diversions, <br />measuring units, sluices, checks, canal lining (high seepage areas) and other <br />st ructu res. <br /> <br />The onfarm needs include; measuring units, ditch lining, farm pipeline, <br />land leveling, irrigation water managemeRt, and irrigation method changes. <br />
