Colorado is not required to deliver any water to <br /> <br />New Mexico not then necessary for beneficial use in <br /> <br />New Mexico. <br /> <br />Animas-La Plata Project Compact <br /> <br />The Animas-La Plata Project Compact has been entered into <br /> <br />in order to clarify the relationship between Colorado and New <br /> <br />Mexico water users on the Animas-La Plata Project authorized <br /> <br />by Public Law 90-537. <br /> <br />The Compact makes the priority of the New Mexico water users <br /> <br />of the Animas-La Plata Project water equal to the decreed rights <br /> <br />of the Colorado water users who take water from the same <br /> <br />project. <br /> <br />-7- <br />
