were made to Cochiti, with the remainder of SJ-C deliveries to Cochiti occurring in
January 1999, The Cochiti Lake summary is shown in Table 11 B (page 12).

Jemez Canvon Reservoir
Jemez Canyon Dam and Reservoir is a U.S, Corps of Engineers facility, Arrangements
were made to replace sediment pool evaporative losses during 1997, Since 1991, up
to 5,500 AF (less 69 AF of transportation losses) of City of Albuquerque SJ-C water
in Abiquiu Reservoir has been used to replace sediment deposition and evaporative
losses in Jemez Canyon Reservoir. Such water is provided by contract between the
City of Albuquerque and the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission, dated
February 21, 1986 and amended May 16, 1991.

In 1998, the City of Albuquerque, in an agreement with the New Mexico Interstate
Stream Commission, again offered an additional 1,500 AF to help fill the sediment
space,

A total of 5,570 AF was released from Abiquiu from April, May and June, .It suffered
70 AF of transportation losses. Due to construction activity at Abiquiu, there were
limited releases from November 1, 1998 through April 1, 1999, Table 10 (page 10)
shows the SJ-C balance for Jemez Canyon Reservoir and Table 11 C (page 13) shows
the reservoir summary for 1999,

Reclamation had estimated the 1990 - 1998 accumulated sediment inflow into Jemez
Reservoir at 5,107 AF, A Corps of Engineers' 1998 survey determined the actual
amount of sediment that had accumulated in Jemez between 1990 - .1998 to be
3,060 AF, The Corps of .Engineers' survey became effective as of Dec:ember31,
1998. As such, the 1998 end of year values for both accumulated sediment and Rio
Grande content were adjusted accordingly in Table 11 C.

Eleohant Butte Reservoir
The Sierra Wine Growers Association pumped 98 AF from .Elephant Butte Reservoir
during 1999, The total affect of this 98 AF was offset by a release of1 00 AF from
the City.of Albuquerque pool in Abiquiu during 1999, An additional release of 96 AF
was released from the City of Albuquerque Pool during 1999 to offset the affect of
the pumping of 95 AF from Elephant Butte Reservoir by the Sierra Wine Growers
Association during 1998, A total release of 194 AF was made in 1999,

See footnote on the Elephant Butte Present Condition table (page 40) for
transportation loss details,

vi
