Water development policies and practices are at the heart of <br />many problems affecting economic growth. <br />3. Failure to recognize these problems may jeopardize the long <br />range water supply. <br /> <br />I- <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />An additional reason for undertaking the inventory portion of the <br />study is the desirability of compiling information relating to: <br />1. The range of variations in \vater quality, quantity, degree of <br />service, and price that exist within the metropolitan area. <br />2. Continuing concern over adequacy of available water supplies <br />and the need for maximum efficiency in utilizing these <br />supplies. <br />3. The relationship of municipal water supply to long range <br />planning objectives for the entire South Platte River Basin <br />and the adequate provision of other urban seT1~ces. <br /> <br />The purpose of the Inventory Report is to lay the ground work for <br />possible later consideration and solution of the water supply problems of <br />the area by providing the basic data \~lich will form the factual basis <br />for any future analysis. The report includes an inventory of a Primary <br />area within a radius of approximately 25 miles from the center of Denver <br />and a general inventory of a Regional area including the Upper South Platte <br />River Basin plus areas on the Western Slope that provide transmountain <br />water to the South Platte River Basin. <br /> <br />2 <br />
