<br />I'IIII/pill!} plant c;/-P{{Jlsioll <br /> <br />Two new pump units will be added to the present three units in <br />each pumping plant, and a second delivery line will be added at <br />each plant. The new pump units will hllve the same nominal <br />capacity, 200 cubic feet pel' second each, as the units now in serv- <br />ice, so that the total pumping capacity will be increased to 1,000 <br />cubic feet pel' second. <br />During the fiscal year specifications were issued for the "yn- <br />chronous motors, pumps, discharge valves, butterfly valves, and <br />delivery line head gates required for the plant expansion program. <br />Contract for the 9,000 hI' motors at Intake and Gene plants was <br />awarded to General Electrie Company; for the 4,300 hI' motors at <br />Iron Mountain plant, to Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company: <br />and for the 12,500 hp motors at Eagle Mountain and Hayfield <br />plants, to Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Byron-Jackson Com- <br />pany was awarded the contract for the pumps for Intake and Gene <br />plants; Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company, the pumps for <br />Iron Mountain plant; and Worthington Corporation, the pumps for <br />Eagle Mountain 'lIld Hayfield plants. In each case the successful <br />bidder for the motors and pumps was the same company which <br />manufactured the equipment originally inst>1I1ed in the same plant. <br />Contract for the pump discharge valves for Intake, Gene, Eagle <br />Mountain, and Ha;.field plants was awarded to Willamette Iron <br />and Steel Company.
