,.

c:.~
,.

CHAPTER IV

....
~ EVALUATION OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
c.~
QO The Arkansas-White-Red Basins Inter-Agency Committee completed its 28th
year of operation. There were two regular meetings during fiscal year
1983, October 12-14, 1982 and May 18-19, 1983.

Each meeting provided opportunity for communication and cooperation among
the state and federal agency members. Each meeting had several discussions
on water-related programs being implemented in the basin.

The October meeting was held jointly with the Upper Mississippi River Basin
Association (UHRBA). A panel discussion centered around the program theme,
"Effects of Water Diversions." The speakers' presentations were published
in an informative report, "Effects of Water Diversions, Panel Proceedings,
October 13, 1982."

The theme of the Hay meeting, ''Water Development Financing in the 80's,"
provided an excellent opportunity for exchange of information and ideas
pertaining to water resource development and project funding alternatives.
Speakers were from state, federal, and private organizations, which
provided for an array of perspectives pertaining to the program theme.

11
