<br />C&RE Incentive Program. Western believes this program pool provides <br />an excellent. opportunity to further pursue the objectives of the <br />existing Westernwide C&RE Program, that is (1) to increase energy <br />production from renewable resources~ (2) to reduce dependence on <br />foreign energy, and (3) to improve efficiency in energy utilization. <br />These objectives can be accomplished by allocating a portion of the <br />total marketable resources as an incentive for developing renewable <br /> <br />I <br />resources and effective energy management programs. <br /> <br />The de vel opment of the detail s of t~e C&RE Incentive Program, such as <br />evaluation criteria and allocation methodology, is not envisioned to <br />start until about September 1988, at which time public parti-cipation <br />will be sought to formulate the pro~ram. It is contemplated that this <br />energy and capacity may be marketed ion another basis until used in <br />this incentive program. <br /> <br />c. Summary and Conclusion: I <br /> <br />No extension of the final deadline of December 30, 1983, will be <br />! <br />granted for filing applicant profi1~ data, though Western reserves the <br />i <br />right to request clarifying or addi~ional infoMnation from applicants <br /> <br />who have already submitted data. <br /> <br />The I-year extension to show "signf~icant and tangible steps" granted <br />, <br /> <br />, <br />to West Bountiful, Richfield and Ma~leton, Utah, has expired. As <br /> <br />, <br />Mapleton failed to submit the requi~ed information, the city will no <br />longer qualify as a potential applicant.
