This is a multipurpose project which will provide <br />a full water supply for 500 acres of land and a supplemental supply for <br />4,000 acres. In addition, 18,000 acre-feet of municipal and industrial water <br />will be developed along with fish and wildlife and recreation benefits. <br /> <br />Advance planning studies were continued during F. Y. 1967. These consisted <br />of engineering, economic, and geological studies to be used in preparation <br />of a definite plan report schedule for completion in F. Y. 1968. <br /> <br />CENTRAL UTAH PARTICIPATING PROJECT, UPALCO UNIT, UTAH <br /> <br />The U,palco Unit of the Central Utah Project is located in Duchesne County <br />near Rooseve1.t, utah, on the lake 1fork River and Yellowstone Creek. This <br />is a multipurpose project which will supply supplemental irrigation water <br />to approximately 27,500 acres of non-Indian lands and 15,100 acres of Indian <br />lands. Recreation and fish and 1r.lldlife benefits will also be provided. <br /> <br />~ne definite plan report is scheduled to be completed by the end of calendar <br />year 1967. <br /> <br />FRUITlJIND MESA PARTICIPATING PROJECl', COLORADO <br /> <br />The Fruitland Mesa Project is located in the Gunnison River Basin of the <br />upper Colorado River Basin in l~ntrose and Delta Counties about 60 miles <br />west of the Continental Divide. This is a multipurpose project which will <br />provide supple~ental water for 7,010 acres of presently inadequately <br />irrigated land and a full supply of irrigation water to 15,870 acres <br />of land. In addition, recreation and fish and wildlife benefits will <br />be prOVided. Principal project features will include the Soap Park Dam <br />which will create a 48,235 acre-foot reservoir, the Black Mesa Conduit, the <br />21-mile Fruitland Canal, and two diversion dams. <br /> <br />During F. Y. 1967 advance planning studies were completed and the definite <br />plan report is to be completed in July. <br /> <br />
