The ;ui_B.ernote Telemetry UniYs=('RTUj 'will be <br />disttnSuted within a twenty mile-rad'lus""of-the base-station. <br /> <br />The RTU's must be modular in construction, supplied with radio <br />equipment on a designated VHF frequency, self contained, and <br />capable of six months of uninterupted use. Precipitation gauges <br />shall be of the tipping bucket type, capable of measuring rainfall <br />in Imm increments. Stream gauges shall be capable of mearsuring <br />stream levels up to 15' in depth, resistant to freezing <br />conditions, and capable of dampening wave action. RTU's will be <br />supplied by the contractor ready for installation by others. The <br />contractor shall provide coordination and traininq in proper <br />installation and maintenance of all remote equipment. <br /> <br />Both base stations will contain as a minimum the following <br />equipment and materials: IBM c~Ea~~91e~i~r~~~put~r capable of <br />processing remote transmittea-aata 1n real time format; <br />receiver/decoder; &r.!n:t:.,e,I;,.; and .AL~T so.ftwar-,~ or equal. (ALERT is <br />a product of International HydroLogic Services, Berkley, <br />ealifornia.) Software shall be confiqured to all~~_~nitional use~ <br />at each terminal. The contractor will provide all equipment, <br />labor, and materials for ins taJJ,~tion_oLl:!Q.J:l!. q~se ,.sta t!ons <br />complete in place. The"contractorwili also provide the necessary <br />iQterface work to assure that RTU's are reporting and that <br />information is being processed and stored at both base stations. <br />Cost of each base station shall include all tIaining find <br />documentation for at least one operator at each location. <br />I . <br />The remote terminal shall consist of an IBM compatible micro <br />computer and the needed software capable of communicating ~ <br />,telephone modem with either-base station. .
