8 002520 Statewide Develapment, and Determinatian af Sequence and Timing af Water Prajects -- is canducted an a statewide basis. The abjectives are: ,. (1) "to. integrate the water demands fram the variaus segments af Califarnia into. a cahes ive caardinated statewide time-sequenced demands; I (2) "to. integrate the resaurces available in the variaus segments af California and elsewhere into a caardi- nated availability of resaurces; and (3) "to. caardinate and integrate develapment, an a state- wide basis, af the phys ical means far satisfying the demands, within the praper ecanamic and chranalagic framewark, in the farm af a staged plan far water develapment. " This care program, besides manitaring the variaus praject investigatians and developing econamic demand infarmation, maintains the staged water demand infarmation and a staged plan far water development far the entire State. This is impartant since few, if any, patential prajects remain which will nat affect ather areas af the State - - in some cases hundreds af miles away. The staged plan is a schedule af water-related projects by type, lacatian, size, and time af campletian. This includes water develapment and dis- tributian, flaad cantral, quality cantrol, and water-related features af recreatian and fish and wildlife prajects. It will identify physical works needed, an the basis af current infarmatian, at specific future dates __ with a prajectianp.eriad of 60 years or mo.te. ) . After a praject has been praperly placed in the staged plan fOr water development, the last step in the Planning divisian af the chart, it maves into. the Implementatian divis ian. Here the praject is in a larger arena and undergaes negatiatians and studies af pal icy, funding, and pas sible canstructing and aperating arrangements. Same prajects will be recam- mended far canstructian by Federal and local agencies. When apprapri- ate, studies will result in request far autharizatian af a praject far State canstructian. If autharized as a State praject, it maves into. definite praject studies, then to. Design and Canstruction. If it is to. be a nan- State praject, the State helps the canstructing agency caardinate planning details to. mave the praject taward autharizatian and then Design and Constructian. State assistance to ather canstructing agencies at this (.
