<br /> <br />-?5 <br />ntlZ~~. <br /> <br />Work on (a) and (b) is performed by the Area Management organizations <br />with overall guidance by the Statewide Planning Office. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Activities under (c) are performed in the Statewide Planning Office. with <br />the Area Management and the Statewide Operations office participating <br />through their interrelated programs. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Here is a brief description of each of the three phases with subject list- <br />ing of major activities: <br /> <br />(a) Basic Information Phas e - - Develops fundamental knowledge of land <br />use, land classification, crop adaptability, and present water use for <br />the subsequent determination of an area's future water requirements, <br />surplus, or deficiency. <br /> <br />Land Use Inventories <br />Present Land and Water Use Reports <br />West Side Crop Adaptability Study <br /> <br />(b) Evaluation Phase -- Utilizes and builds upon the basin information <br />developed in the previous phas'e to determine the quantity and quality of <br />the water resources (both surface and ground) and the buildup of water <br />requirements in each of the watersheds of the State. <br /> <br />Water Resources and Future Water Requirements <br /> <br />(In estimating future water requirements, these major pro- <br />cedures are involved: (1) crop market outlook studies to <br />enable realistic projections of future crop patterns, (2) pro- <br />jections of future land use, (3) evaluation of payment capacity <br />based On ability to pay for water, and (4) projections of <br />future economic demands for water.) <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />(c) Integrated Project Planning Phase -- Integrates all studies previously <br />des cribed and formulates the most favorable economic s equ enc e and <br />chronology of project development tom e e t growing needs throughout <br />the State.
