Ware - Corps of Engineers <br /> <br />1, Water supply needs for both mlmicipal and industrial purposes <br />have been estimated in the States of Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. <br />Municipal needs for Louisiana and Oklahoma are established, and Oklahoma <br />is near completion on its industrial requirements also, New Mexico's <br />needs were set forth in a draft of a report which has been circulated. <br />The Colorado Committee has been proceeding independently toward a similar <br />end. Although no progress is reported, that group is presumed to be near <br />agreement on its municipal and industrial needs, but the findings have <br />not yet been circulated in the interstate work groups. <br /> <br />2. A task group was designated in Oklahoma to complete the investi- <br />gation needed to establish industrial requirements, and a meeting of the <br />Work Group on 9 Jul)" will provide for completion of this. Qspect in <br />Oklahoma. Industrial requirements for Louisiana will be the subject of <br />a work group meeting On 14 July. Field tosts are in progress to determine. <br />the quantity and quality of ground water available in the Louisiana portion <br />of the alluvial valley. <br /> <br />3. Excluding rural usage, this will leave unestablished only the <br />industrial and municipal needs of Texas, for which a study at the State <br />University under contracts with the Bureau of Reclamation is expected <br />to yield information for consideration of the Work Group. The rural <br />situation for the AWR area has been indicated in draft by the Department <br />of Agriculture, and is in process of review and revision. <br /> <br />4. The report outline for this subject was revised in accordance <br />with instructions from Tulsa Group and was distributed. on 7 April. The <br />progress in preparation of this report, scheduled for 31 August, is con- <br />sidered to be 2 percent at this time, <br />
