I
I
I
I I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

INTRODUCTION

This report presents the results of a depletion study for three hydrologic

flow conditions on Gore Creek near Vail. The work was authorized by the

Colorado River Water Conservation District as part of the hydrolo~ic

investigation for an Environmental Impact Statement regarding the sale of vater

from Green Mountain Reservoir. Vail Valley Consolidated Water District (VVCWD)

had expressed an interest in purchasing replacement water from Green Mountain

Reservoir, and described a pattern of demand based on use of water from the

Gore Creek basin for municipal and snowmaking purposes. The purpose of this

study is to identify the potential impacts on streamflow in Gore Creek which

might occur as a result of sales from Green Mountain Reservoir.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I

I

-1-
