Several stream
segments in the Gunnison River Basin are
out of compliance with Colorado's water
quality standards including the lower
Uncompahgre and Gunnison Rivers,
Sweitzer Lake and Leroux Creek. The
Gunnison River Basin Selenium Task Force
has been formed to find ways to reduce
selenium within these reaches while
maintaining the economic viability and
lifestyle of the lower Gunnison River Basin.
The NIWQP is interested in reducing
impacts from federal irrigation projects and
is concerned about potential impacts to
endangered Colorado River fish.

Please call or send us Your thoUQhts on
the enclosed Comment Card.

Ideas for future newsletters?
What information you would like presented
in future newsletters?
