Fish
species identified include dace, sculpin, flannelmouth,
white and bluehead suckers, and rainbow and brown trout.

Few young trout are found in the river indicating little

natural reproduction. Stocking accounts for most of the

trout identified. The lower reaches of the Uncompahgre
River tributaries in the study area provide poor fishery
habitat because of low late-season flows and irrigation
diversions which severely reduce the streamflow during late
1
summer.

I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

I.
