The generating equipment will include the following <br /> <br />major components: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />A 2250 mm double regulated horizontal propeller turbine. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />A synchronous generator (600 or 900 rpm) generating at <br /> <br />4160 volts. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Switch gear, turbine control panels and miscellaneou$ <br /> <br />controls and metering. <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />An outdoor high voltage substation with a 1000 KVA, <br /> <br />4.16/34.5 KV transformer. <br /> <br />e . <br /> <br />A speed increaser <br /> <br />The plant will be operated in a strict run-of-the-iiver mode <br /> <br />relative to the flows in the irrigation canal. Water level <br /> <br />sensors will be installed in the canal upstream of the <br /> <br />headworks, and a programmable controller in conjunction with <br /> <br />the turbine control scheme will be utilized to maintain a <br /> <br />constant headwater elevation. <br /> <br />The tainter gate on the <br /> <br />existjng canal will be autoD'atically modulated to control <br /> <br />headwater levels when the discharf.e capacity of the turbine <br /> <br />is exceeded. <br /> <br />The plant will be operated automatically from <br /> <br />A- 7 <br />
