<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />N <br />~ <br />Q <br />~ <br /> <br />1981 ANNUAL REPORT ON THE: COLORADO RIVER BASIN <br />SALINITY CONTROL PROJRAM <br /> <br />COLORADO RIVER BASIN SALINITY <br />CONTROL ADVISORY COUNCIL <br />March 1982 <br /> <br />Public Law 93-320, the "Colorado River Basin Salinity <br />Control Act of 1974" authorized construction, operation and <br />maintenance of certain works in the Colorado River Basin to <br /> <br />control the salinity of water available in the Colorado River <br /> <br /> <br />for use in the United States and Mexico. Section 204 of the Act <br /> <br />established a Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Advisory <br />Council. A Charter for the Council was approved by the Secre- <br />taries of the Interior and Agriculture and the Administrator <br />. of the Enviromnental Protection Agency on February 6, 1976 and <br />revised June 22, 1976; June 22, 1978 and June 20, 1930, This <br /> <br />Charger further defines the activities of the Council. <br />Membership and Functions of the Council <br />The Council currently consists of 19 members from the <br />seven basin states. The current membership is shown on Attach- <br />ment A. <br /> <br />The Council is to advise the Secretaries of the Departments <br /> <br />of the Interior <br /> <br />and Agriculture and the Administrator of the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Environmental Protection Agency on all ~atters relating to <br /> <br />efficient and timely planning and execution of the salinity <br /> <br />control measures and procedures specified in Public Law 93-320, <br /> <br />Title II. The Council's duties include receiving reports from <br />
