<br />OOOGb3 <br /> <br /> <br />PROLOGUE <br /> <br />Summer cloud seeding is a fact throughout the High Plains. <br />For years, farmer and rancher groups have perceived that <br />the possible benefits were worth an investment in this <br />promising technology. In recent years, advances in the <br />sophistication of our ability to affect the weather pre- <br />dictably and responsibly has spurred growing modification <br />activities, especially in the Plains States. Numerous <br />commercial and research projects have been sought, acti- <br />vated, and acceptably received. Through cooperative projects, <br />resident scientific expertise and capabilities have developed. <br />Decisions now are being considered that involve larger <br />areas, greater resources, and possibly more widespread <br />beneficial effects. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The desire for more rain and water supplies in the semi- <br />arid region is motivating a growing, serious interest in <br />cloud seeding.
