<br />Recommendations <br /> <br />'Ov~rall watershed management requires the cooperation of many <br />interests to assure that development and activities will minimize <br />the potential public health hazards associated with the proposed <br />pDOject. It is recommepded that the following be given due con- <br />.sideration in development of the Dallas Creek Project: <br /> <br />1. That the water users' organization (1. e. Water Con- <br />servancy District) operating as the general administra- <br />tive and contracting agency for the project should: <br /> <br />a. Alert all water users of the potential public health <br />hazards associated with using inadequately treated <br />water for culinary purposes; <br /> <br />b. Exert all possible precaution to exclude sewage <br />effluents and barnyard drainage from project canals, <br />laterals, and drains; <br /> <br />c.Wherever and whenever possible assist the project <br />inhabitants and communities in development of approved <br />water and sewerage facilities; <br /> <br />d. Operate and maintain project facilities in accordance <br />with esta~lished criteria. <br /> <br />2. That potential recreational areas be investigated and at <br />least minimu!ll water and sani.tary facilities be provided <br />in accordance with Colorado State Department of Public <br />Health. <br /> <br />3. That a sanitary survey of proposed construction campsites <br />be made and all camps be provided with water and sanitary <br />facilities in accordance with Colorado State Department <br />of Health regulations. <br /> <br />4. That recreational activities at reservoirs utilized as a <br />source of public water supplies meet the requirements <br />established by the Colorado State Department of Health. <br /> <br />5. That person or persons responsible for a public water <br />supply establish suitable controls over the use of <br />watershed areas tributary to the supply to insure <br />production of raw water meeting the quality requirements <br />established by the Colorado State Department of Health. <br /> <br />36 <br />
