Recommendations

'Ov~rall watershed management requires the cooperation of many
interests to assure that development and activities will minimize
the potential public health hazards associated with the proposed
pDOject. It is recommepded that the following be given due con-
.sideration in development of the Dallas Creek Project:

1. That the water users' organization (1. e. Water Con-
servancy District) operating as the general administra-
tive and contracting agency for the project should:

a. Alert all water users of the potential public health
hazards associated with using inadequately treated
water for culinary purposes;

b. Exert all possible precaution to exclude sewage
effluents and barnyard drainage from project canals,
laterals, and drains;

c.Wherever and whenever possible assist the project
inhabitants and communities in development of approved
water and sewerage facilities;

d. Operate and maintain project facilities in accordance
with esta~lished criteria.

2. That potential recreational areas be investigated and at
least minimu!ll water and sani.tary facilities be provided
in accordance with Colorado State Department of Public
Health.

3. That a sanitary survey of proposed construction campsites
be made and all camps be provided with water and sanitary
facilities in accordance with Colorado State Department
of Health regulations.

4. That recreational activities at reservoirs utilized as a
source of public water supplies meet the requirements
established by the Colorado State Department of Health.

5. That person or persons responsible for a public water
supply establish suitable controls over the use of
watershed areas tributary to the supply to insure
production of raw water meeting the quality requirements
established by the Colorado State Department of Health.

36
