<br />67 drainage wells had been installed." Additional wells
<br />are now under construction to bring the total to over
<br />90 such wells. In the beginning these wells discharged
<br />into the nearest points in the Gila River. Later in 1961,
<br />a conveyance channel more than 50 miles in length and of
<br />about 300 cubic feet per second capacity was completed
<br />to carry the discharge into the Gila River at a point out-
<br />side the Gila Project area.

<br />No notice concerning the drainage program was given
<br />by the United States to the Government of Mexico.
<br />Additionally, water of such a sustained degree of salinity
