<br />o <br /> <br />c' ; <br />'.:;) <br />':..~ <br />(.- ~ <br />(.> <br /> <br />Secretary <br /> <br />The Commission shall employ a secretary who shall <br />be a registered professional engineer, or a Corporate Mem- <br />ber of the American Society of Civil Engineers, exper- <br />ienced in irrigation, agricultural or hydraulic engineering. <br />The period of employment of the secretary shall be at the <br />pleasure of the Commission but not exceeding one year, <br />at the end of which period his services shall automatically <br />terminate; provided, however, that the Commission, upon <br />unanimous agreement, may extend his employment for a <br />period not exceeding one year following the year within <br />which his employment has been automatically terminated, <br />or may employ another individual under like conditiom; <br />with respect to period of employment; it being the intent <br />and puprose of the Commission to limit the term of em- <br />ployment of any such appointee so that any re-appoint- <br />ment, or the appointment of any successor, can be made <br />for a period of but one year, and then only by the unani- <br />mous action of the Commissi'on. <br /> <br />" . <br /> <br />The salary of the secretary shall be determined by <br />the Commission. He shall be reimbursed for his necessary <br />traveling expenses incurred in performing his official du- <br />ties, as may be determined by the Commission. <br /> <br />',' <br />" <br /> <br />Each of the respective states, at its own expense, shall <br />provide adequate office facilities for the use of the secre- <br />tary of the Commission. <br /> <br />It shall be the duty of the secretary to collect and <br />correlate all factual data and other records having a bear- <br />ing upon the administration of the Compact, and to keep <br />each Commissioner advised thereof, It shall be the fur- <br />ther duty of the secretary to inspect all gaging stations <br />maintained by the Commission, and to make re!;ommen- <br />dations to the Commission as to any changes or improve- <br />ments to existing stations, and for the addition of new sta- <br />tions, to the end that reliable records may be had for the <br />proper carrying out of the provisions of the Compact. <br /> <br />The secretary shall report to each Commissioner by <br />letter on or before the fifteenth day of each month, ex- <br />cept January, a summary of all hydrographic data then <br />available for the current year - on forms prescribed by <br />the Commission - pertaining to: <br /> <br />(a) Deliveries by Colorado at State Line; <br /> <br />(b) Deliveries by New Mexico at San Marcial; and <br /> <br />(c) Release and Spill from Project Storage. <br />
