In addi- <br /> <br />tion to these practice.s, the Bureau rehabilitatesburneu-ove.r areas; develops <br /> <br />water facilities, including 'wells, springs, reservoirs, and pipelines; builds <br /> <br />water control structures ranging from small gully plugs to large water- <br /> <br />spreading systems using detention dams, diversions, dikes, and water- <br /> <br />spreaders; constructs range use facilities such as fencing, catUeguards, <br /> <br />sto.cktrails,and truck trails; controls.or erauicates noxious or poisonous <br /> <br />plants and reseeds the land to usable forage. Timber lands in the area are <br /> <br />primarily administered by the Forest Service, However.. the public lands <br /> <br />contain some acreage of ponderosa pine with commercial value, as well as <br /> <br />large areas ofptii'on-juniper woodlands. . The woodland areas produce <br /> <br />Christmas trees, fence posts, and pi'llOn nuts.
