I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

1.2.3 Hydrologic Study Period

The hydrologic study period used in the model was for calen-

dar years 1949 through 1957. This period represents a very wet

year followed by several dry years and then another very wet

year. It was the consensus that this study period provides the
I

range limitations in terms of both water availability and reser-

voir fluctuations. This period does not necessarily include the

driest years which may adversely affect some of the agencies to a

greater extent. Such a year would be 1963. This study period

was given final approval at a meeting of the study Committee on

November 20, 1990.

It is noted that there were fluctuations of volume of water

through the Morrison gauge during the study period. This program

was based on monthly data and did not take into consideration the

daily river fluctuations which may affect the reservoir. Day to

day fluctuations should be ~ one foot in addition to the program

fluctuation except during flood control operations.

1.2.4 Reservoir storage scenarios

Four alternative reservoir storage scenarios were evaluated.

Figure 1 shows schematically where the various storage space is

located. Each scenario is as follows:

scenario A.

405 acre-feet of storage space made available for

Indian Hills, Genesee, Evergreen, ~orrison, Mt.

Carbon and Lakewood in the 1974 acre-foot perma-

nent pool, as contemplated in the initial request

1-5
