From the substation 13.8kv.
lines will transmit power directly to individual installations. These
lines will be si~le pole, single cross ann, four wire lines. Con-
ductors will be 2[0 ACSR for the main lines and No.2 ACSR for branch
and stub lines. Reclosers will be used to isolate groups of wells.
Transfonners will be located at each well to reduce the 13.8 kv.
transmission voltage to 440 volts which is the contemplated voltage
for the pump motors. The layout of the main transmission lines is
shown in Figure 2. Secondary, or stub lines, to individual wells are
not shown. '

Small compacted earth laterals, or ditches, will be required
to convey pumped water'from isolated wells, or groups of wells, to
major conveyance channels. These laterals, or ditches, will vary in
Size, as needed, from one to four c.f.s. The larger channels will
extend to the main conveyance channel of the Closed :Basin water salvage
facilities. These channels will range in size from 5 c.f.s. to 24 c.f.s..

Additiona~ the required appurtenant facilities, such as
access roads, cattle guards, and observation wells'are also provided for
in the construction cost estimate.

The estimated costs of salvage by use of pump wells are as
shown'in Table 1.

r~
'-' ....

~ .~ ,.
~ '~.. .
':;;;jJ

"

, "
