We must <br />have the ability to stay ahead of the demand for water at the moSt effiCient COSts possible. Are we currently on track to do this! <br />Taste. I have heard from many residents in our District saYing thar Clifton Warer District drinking water.....well. putting it <br />nicely.....ls less than deSirable. I know taste is very subleCtlve, however I would like to see our District address thiS issue <br />further. What can we do to Improve the taste of the DistriCt's water! <br />Security. since our nation's most recent tragic events, I beheve we need to ensure our drinking water is not an easy target <br />for terrorists or pranksters What is the real threat and are we addressing preventive measures for sabotage' <br />Compliance. I believe we need to maintain strict drinking warer compliance with State and Federal drinking warer <br />requirements. I would like to build upon the District's successes. let the community know what <br />we did, and eliminate the weaknesses. I graduated (rom Grand JunctJon High School in 1957 and joined the <br />USAF two weeks afterward. I passed my college level GED in 1959 at McGuire AFB. I have also served as president of the Thunder <br />Mountain Tourers Motorcycle Club. Inc. for seven years I was also the SecretaryfTreasurer then President of the Western <br />Colorado Association of ufe Underwriters in 1974_ I 976. t helped form the Cola West Mill Tailings Coalition. Inc.. and served a <br />vice-president. and then four years as the preSident. I am currently the president of the Clifton Water District. and of the <br />Whltewater Cemetery Association. Inc. I also partiCipated In the Adopt.a-Highway cleanup program for several years. I would hke to be re.elected to the <br />Clifton Water District Board of Directors. so I can continue serving the users of Clifton Water. as I have for the past 16 years. <br />During my career on the Board we have built a new Nanoflltration facihty. One of the changes that I think needs to uke place. <br />is the eliminatIon of term limits. or at least have the limit raised to three terms. I would also like to see a less pJ.perwork oriented <br />organization. (More people behind the donkeys than on them.) <br />
