Th, <br />purpose of the report is to inform individuals involved withlAQUATRAIN <br />of current and upcoming activities so that a coordinated effrrt <br />can be maintained and project flag dates met. <br /> <br />2.0 SUBTEAM: WATER RIGHTS/WATER SUPPLY/STATES ISSUES <br /> <br />2.1 FEBRUARY EVENTS <br /> <br />Jack Barnett of the Colorado River Basin Salinity contl01 <br />Forum met with representatives of 35 Congressional off ces <br />in Washington, DC, to resolve issues relating to S.752 and <br />gain sufficient support to get the bill on the calenda <br />for hearings and voting. i <br /> <br />On February 29, Clinton briefed Barnett on the status * <br />the project. The Forum has suggested that David Willi s <br />and Tom Clark attend their May 1 meeting in Salt Lake ity. <br />i <br /> <br />2.2 ANTICIPATED MARCH EVENTS <br /> <br />Wyoming State Planning Coordination Office requested a briefing <br />while McKeever and Clinton are in Cheyenne March 14 to speak <br />to the Rotary Club. <br /> <br />I <br />Clinton will speak before Western Colorado Projects Re~iew <br />Conference in Durango on March 8. i <br />I <br />Clinton and McKeever will meet with Colorado Department' <br />of Natural Resources on March 23. <br /> <br />3.0 SUBTEAM: COAL MARKET/COAL SUPPLY (McKeever) <br />3.1 FEBRUARY EVENTS <br /> <br />McKeever and Clinton briefed the Utah Coal Operators As ociation <br />on February 2. The group responded positively to details <br />about the route of the pipeline in their area and expre sed <br />a willingness to work with and for AQUATRAIN. They app eciate <br />receiving monthly reports to keep up to date with activ"ties <br />and inquired as to when Bureau of Reclamation public in olvement <br />efforts would resume. <br />
