This
analysis was done by the Regional Office of the USDA Forest Service. It was part of a project to assess
the economic diversity and condition of various subregions within. the four-state region of Colorado,
Wyoming, Nebrask.a, and South Dak.ota.

The RGNF's contributions to the area's economy are presented by total income, personal income,
property income, and employment. The total contributions are listed for the area's economy as a
baseline for comparison purposes. Following this baseline data, corresponding entries are given for each
of four resource groups, plus the National Forest totals.

Results for each of these groups are based on National Forest activities (outputs and expenditures) that
occurred within the arei! from 1985 to 1989. Total effects are shown for income and employment in
both absolute and relative terms. The relative contributions of each group and the total to the area's
economy are shown as . Percentage of Local.' The relative importance of each resource group's
contributions within the Forest is shown as . Percentage of NF (National Forest).'

11-9

Li', :, r / . ~
....~J:.i...i..
