<br />-""- <br />-.t <br />N <br />OJ <br /> <br />Subpart A - General Background and Provisions <br /> <br />~600.05 AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />a <br />NRCS <br />Responsibilities <br /> <br />NRCS will: <br /> <br />- lead and coordinate the SCCC at the National, State, and <br />local levels. <br /> <br />- coordinate CRSCP activities with CFsA and CSREES at the <br />National, State, and local levels. <br /> <br />- identify salt source areas and prepare USDA Salinity <br />Control Reports. <br /> <br />- provide leadership in developing PIP's. <br /> <br />- provide and coordinate technical assistance for CRSCP on a <br />project by project basis. <br /> <br />b <br />Responsibilities and <br />coordination within <br />NRCS. <br /> <br />National Instruction No. 300-302, dated September 17, 1985, <br />or as reissued, sets forth the functional role and assigns <br />responsibilities within the NRCS for coordination and <br />liaISOns, program development planning, and <br />implementation of the CRSCP (see 538.60) to: <br /> <br />- administer CRSCP through the local NRCS field office. <br /> <br />- develop and certify CPO's with the CD. <br /> <br />- review CPO s with CD. <br /> <br />- provide technical assistance for CP's. <br /> <br />- develop and carry out project monitoring and evaluation <br />(M&E Plans for each project are located in NRCS local <br />State and National offices). <br /> <br />- use grants and cooperative agreements when needed for: <br /> <br />* carrying out technical assistance. <br />* monitoring and evaluation activities. <br />* providing financial assistance. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- establish working agreements with Federal, State, and <br />local agencies, and others as needed for assistance on <br />CRSCP projects. <br /> <br />- work with landowners and operators through local districts <br />and other entities to encourage participation in installing <br />needed CP's. <br /> <br />(INTERIM) <br /> <br />(300-VI-NCRSCPH, JUNE 1995) <br /> <br />600-3 <br />
