<br />~ <br /> <br />r-- <br />l1? <br /><..0 <br />C'? <br /> <br />( " <br />'-_\ <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br />RIO GRANDE COD1PACT COMMISSION REPORT <br /> <br />ACCURACY OF RECORDS <br /> <br />The Rules and Regulations of the Commission state that the equip- <br />ment, method, and frequency of measurement at each gaging station shall <br />be sufficient to obtain records at least equal in accuracy to those <br />classified as Ilgoodl1 by the U.S. Geological Survey. Within the physical <br />limitations of stream gaging, the agencies obtaining the records at <br />Compact gaging stations have complied with these regulations. <br /> <br />The station description states the degree of accuracy of the <br />records. "Excellentlr indicates that, in general, the error in the <br />daily records 1s believed to be less than 5 percent; "goodll less than <br />10 percent; !1falr1! less than 15 percent; and llpoarl! probably more than <br />15 percent. The records of monthly runoff are, in general, more <br />accurate than the daily records. These standards of accuracy are the <br />same as those followed by the U.S. Geological Survey. <br />
